It is estimated over 6,000 children are being served by these private and government funded entities. To date, RLP has served an estimate 3,000 foster, homeless and low-income youth.

Our mission

RLP exists to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children, youth and teens; with an emphasis on those that are homeless and residing in foster care. We believe basic need items instill hope, bolster confidence, build self-esteem that can translate to improved performance in the classroom. Students who are academic achievers are more likely to be valued contributors to our society and ultimately realize the value in helping others. As a result, RLP specializes in the collection and distribution of basic need items (i.e., clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies and toys). We do this work to instill hope and demonstrate love toward the student and in parallel reduce the financial burden on the caregivers and displaced parents. We accomplish this goal hosting family- focused events that mobilize our community members. Our primary goal is to create awareness around the pervasive issue of foster care and homelessness among children and youth. Our secondary goal is educating our community on ways they can get involved and invest in the lives of children…our future. Many of our community members have little to no awareness of the challenging conditions of the lives of so many socio-economically disadvantaged and displaced children. As a result, we are compelled to amplify this issue by exposing the growing and exponential issue of foster care and its linkage to homelessness. In addition, we desire to educate aspiring foster care or adopt parents on how to navigate through the fost-adoption process.
